Veterinærinstituttet har også i år gjennomført fortløpende analyser av skjell fra seks ulike lakseelver i Trondheimsfjorden, for å avdekke andel rømt oppdrettslaks i sportsfiskesesongen.

I Drammenselva og Lierelva ble det i 1987 påvist laks infisert av Gyrodactylus salaris. I 2003 ble parasitten også påvist hos laks i Sandeelva vest for Drammenselva. Miljødirektoratet har satt ned ei arbeidsgruppe for å vurdere om det er mulig å bekjempe parasitten i Drammensregionen. Denne rapporten er et resultat av kunnskap denne gruppa har etterspurt.

I denne sluttrapporten presenteres resultater fra gjentatte in vitro H2O2- og FV-eksponeringer av et P. perurans-isolat. Fire ulike fremgangsmåter/metoder for in vitro eksponering av P. perurans ble forsøkt, der mulighet for å ta vare på eksponerte amøber for oppformering i ny kultur ble vektlagt.
