Solutions for sludge collection from closed sea-based facilities and its significance for environmental impact

The aim is to find knowledge about how to collect sludge from semiclosed containment systems (SCCS) by:

1. Map existing solutions for sludge collection from closed sea-based facilities. This includes technical functionality, technology maturity, practical limitations, operational experiences, safety aspects, and documented performance. (WP1)

2. Conduct independent measurements of sludge content and collection during normal operation of floating closed sea-based facilities. (WP2)

3. Assess the potential for sludge collection and examine how costs vary with collection efficiency for a selection of technical configurations. (WP3)

4. Describe the significance of sludge collection for site selection, environmental impact, and the need for fallowing. (WP4)
