The chemical structure drawing package ChemOffice from CambridgeSoft (www.cambridgesoft.com) allows users to draw structures in ChemDraw documents by using prepared structures from a “Template File”.
The National Veterinary Institute is making available for download a series of ChemDraw template files containing groups of algal toxins and mycotoxins. The templates will be updated periodically as new templates become available or as improvements are made to the existing templates. Please contact us if you would like to suggest corrections or improvements to the templates.

The CambridgeSoft website contains more information on how to install and use ChemDraw templates.
Installing the templates
Place the downloaded CTP file into the ChemDraw Items folder that ChemDraw is using. For newer versions of ChemDraw the default location for the ChemDraw Items folder (where 20xx is the version-year of your version of ChemDraw) is:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CambridgeSoft\ChemOffice20xx\ChemDraw\ChemDraw Items
Note that the ChemDraw Items folder address depends on the version of the software in use, so please adjust accordingly.
For example, in older versions of ChemDraw it might be:
C:\Program Files\ChemOffice2001\ChemDraw\Cd_items
The default location is the Applications:CS ChemOffice 20xx:ChemDraw folder.
Removing the templates
A template can be removed by deleting if from the ChemDraw Items folder
Using the templates
Once the template files have been placed in the ChemDraw Items folder, the templates become available by use of the Templates Palette within ChemDraw, along with the standard templates that came with your version of ChemDraw. Please see your ChemDraw manual or Help menu for further assistance on working with templates.
The Template files presented here are made available for non-commercial use only. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the structures they use are correct, but users are requested to advise the National Veterinary Institute if they notice any problems with the structures in the templates or in using the templates from within ChemDraw. The template files have been checked with McAfee software for Malware.
