Onecelled parasites in the Cryptorporidium family can give diarrhoea in animals and humans. Some species of Cryptosporidium from animals can induce disease in humans, most notably Cryptosporidium parvum. Cryptosporidium spreads directly between humans, from animals to humans or through watersources that have been contaminated with fertilizers or sewage.
