The National Veterinary Insitute has detected a MRSA-bacteria in a pigherd as part of the surveillance-programme on MRSA in Norway. This group of bacteria is seldom found in Norway, while in some other european countries it is a growing problem in animal husbandry. The MRSA bacteria is resistant to some kinds of antibiotics.
