A Meticilin Resistant bacteria (MRSA) was established in the middle of June in a sample from a pigsty. Further investigations on the bacteria found show that it is a human MRSA among the most common you find amongst people in Europe.
The MRSA-bacteria does not pose a health threath to the animals and can not be transferred through food. The animal variety of the MRSA-bacteria, which is common amongst swine in the Netherlands and some other european countries, is not found in Norway as of yet.
