The salmonparasite Gyrodactylus salaris has been a reccuring problem in the Beistad Fjord, and a number of treatment regimes has been applied. The National Veterinary Institute is in charge of planning and executing the project. The Beistad Fjord is close to the Trondheim Fjord and treatment is vital to avoid contamination in other watersystems.
The annual report for 2007 on the treatment against salmon parasite gyrodactylus salaris has just been issued. The project is done in collaboration with NIVA ( Norwegian Institute for Water Research). The Directorate for Nature Management is the contractor of the project.
The Report is only available in Norwegian. If you are interested in the project you can contact;
