Avian flue found in England

On 4 June, Defra confirmed that the strain of H7 Avian Influenza present in laying hens on a premises near Banbury in Oxfordshire is highly pathogenic. Investigations are ongoing. A Protection and Surveillance Zone is in place and bird gatherings and movement restrictions apply in the zone.
